Senior Laravel Developer
Build the backend systems that power real-time transport, fleet management, and automotive platforms.
The Role
As a Senior Laravel Developer at Fospertise, you'll build the backend systems that power booking engines, dispatch platforms, fleet management tools, and automotive aftersales portals - the infrastructure our clients depend on to keep operations running.
This isn't backend work in the abstract: every API you design and every architectural decision you make sits underneath real-time, 24/7 transport operations where reliability isn't optional.
You'll lead architecture decisions on complex, high-throughput applications, working closely with front-end, QA, ML, and DevOps teams to ship features end to end - and with domain specialists who ensure what you build actually reflects how transport and automotive businesses operate.
What You'll Do
- Design and build backend services and RESTful APIs for platforms handling real-time tracking, booking, dispatch, and automotive aftersales
- Architect scalable, resilient Laravel applications built for mission-critical, 24/7 transport operations
- Lead technical decisions on system architecture, data modelling, and integration patterns for complex, multi-party integrations - GPS fleets, booking engines, warehouse systems, third-party APIs
- Collaborate with front-end, QA, ML, and DevOps engineers to deliver features end to end
- Optimise performance and reliability of high-throughput, real-time systems
- Review code, uphold engineering standards, and mentor other developers
- Write clean, tested, well-documented code that other engineers can build on
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
- 5+ years of professional experience with PHP and Laravel, including senior-level architecture ownership
- Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs
- Solid experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), caching (Redis), and queue systems
- Understanding of system architecture, scalability, and security best practices
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and complex, multi-system environments
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication skills and comfort leading technical decisions
Nice to Have
- Experience in transport, logistics, mobility, or automotive software
- Experience with real-time systems - WebSockets, GPS tracking, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Exposure to microservices architecture
Why Join Fospertise
Work on Systems That Matter
You won't be building another internal tool. You'll be building the AI, real-time tracking, and cloud infrastructure that keeps buses running, fleets moving, and vehicles connected - where downtime is never just a technical problem.
Intelligence-Led Engineering
We invest in understanding the operational problem before we write code. You'll work alongside domain specialists who understand transport and automotive from the inside, not just product managers relaying requirements.
Complexity as Advantage
We take on the integrations, edge cases, and legacy systems that most teams avoid. It's the kind of work that sharpens engineers rather than wearing them down.
A Global, High-Calibre Team
Join engineers and domain specialists from leading universities across Asia and Europe, united by one mission - solving the hardest operational problems in transport and automotive.
Remote-First, Outcome-Focused
We hire for capability and hold ourselves accountable to outcomes, not hours logged. Work from wherever you do your best work.
End-to-End Ownership
From strategy through build, deployment, and 24/7 support, you'll see your work running in production - inside mission-critical operations, not shelved after handoff.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this role fully remote?
Yes. This is a remote, full-time position. You can work from anywhere, with overlap expected for team collaboration.
Do I need prior experience in the transport or automotive industry?
No - it's a plus, not a requirement. We look for strong Laravel and backend architecture experience first; domain knowledge builds fast when you're working alongside our specialists.
What does the interview process look like?
A technical screening conversation, a practical architecture or coding exercise, and a final conversation with the engineering team. We aim to keep it efficient and give you a clear decision quickly.
Ready to Build Technology That Moves the World?
If you want your engineering to mean something beyond the codebase - to run inside the systems that keep fleets moving, vehicles connected, and operations live 24/7 - we want to hear from you.
